Berry Cheesecake Sunday

Cheese cake Sunday

Morning Run

9am  : time for my 5K run. Bleary eyed I strap my Nike + sports band on trainer up and throw myself out of the front door. First 5K of the week and a chance tow kick start my metabolism. My route starts in Catford , through Ladywell then onto Brockley , Crofton Park then through to Stanstead road back into Catford

Today's run was particularly interesting. My Nike + sportsband had to be sent back to Amsterdam for repairs so today I took my normal route but was relieved from the pressure accompanying running against a clock.
Ran my usual 5.5 K route then entered Ladywell athletics track to complete 3k in bare foot on the athletic track.

Back home now to watch the memorial parades on TV. Brave service men and women before heading down to Bromley.

Cheesecake Sunday

13.9 stones my weighing machine says lol. Maybe I will be lighter after cutting my hair.
Will be keeping an eye on my food intake today. Off to Bromely to by some food for my Nutri Bullet.

South Bank 15/11/2014

Down to my favourite Bar for some Sunday chill down. I love heading to the Benuga Bar in the BFI South Bank. This bar is kitted out like your front lounge with comfy couches. It is frequented by art and TV types together with the odd famous face from ITV next door.
However the real reason why I head down here is the devine cheese cake. At £5.59 it is to die for. Delicious. A nice cup of tea and a newspaper : bliss :-)

Today was particularly good. South Bank is participating in the London Jazz festival.

Evening Yoga

Yoga is my only way of releasing my mind.
It gives me 2 hours to focus on relaxing. I don't tend to relax easily so yoga is my release.
I practice yoga at two venues. One in Greenwich , the other Waterloo's Morley College.
I do yoga for thee following reasons:-
  • To help meditate
  • To help combat stress via breathing
  • To help ward of various illnesses by promoting deep breathing which activate the lymph node
  • To increase muscle strength.
Update

This evening we had a new yoga teacher. Will betaken by her for the next three weeks.
Her style was Ashtanga.
Boy did I sweat today for the second time since my jog this morning. Full core muscles and digestive systems were exercised. Can't wait for next week.
I arrived early today for the first time after finding a new parking spot free after 5 pm in central West Greenwich woohoo.

Yoga classes this week

Yin Yoga

Autumn Term
Suitable for beginners with limited fitness and flexibility as well as experienced yogis.
Yin yoga is a deep, still, mindful practice, offering the opportunity to rest in simple, accessible postures for an extended period of time (up to five minutes). This enables a meditative awareness and a long, slow extension of the body, unwinding compacted fascia and unknotting and releasing muscles. The emphasis is on looking inwards and fostering awareness of what's happening in the whole person through the body.
This is a relaxing and revitalising form of yoga, offering a chance to stretch, breathe, settle your attention in your body, and take time to focus on yourself.
Wear warm layers, as your temperature is likely to drop as you move into stillness.
Type of class: Drop-in class
Cost: £7 / Greenwich Card £6.50 / Concession £6 per class
Dates: 08 September – 08 December 2014
Time: Monday 6:20 - 7:50PM

Salsa Thursdays

Salsa at West Greenwich community centre

The teacher is a 78 year old Jamaican who schooled with Len Goodman. He is funny and skilled and the class is very friendly if not a little slow at times. I love the spirit and friendliness. I have not been for approximately a year so I look forward to Thursday 13th November.
